2014-2015 Rush Hour Procedures with Traffic Patten

$

0

Please note that in an effort to enhance traffic flow and student safety, the traffic pattern has changed for the upcoming school year.

All incoming traffic will enter through the open gate on Opa-Locka Boulevard, as the gate on 10th Avenue will now be closed.  Traffic will flow one-way, and cars will exit at the open gate on 135th Street.

Drop-off: Between 7am-7:50am, students can be dropped off either in front of the church or near the Early Learning Center.  All students arriving before 7:30am must report to the cafeteria. After 7:30am, 6th-8th grade students report to the courtyard area and 9th-12th grade students to the High School building.   Guest parking is located in the sections east of the Early Learning Center and the auditorium.

Pick-up: Kindergarten through 5th grade students are picked up and signed out from their respective classrooms. Therefore, parents must park in the guest parking area as students will no longer lineup in front of the church.  However, 6th-12th grades students can be picked up in front of the church.

This traffic flow will remain in effect between 7:30am and 8:30am each morning and between 2:30pm and 3:30pm each afternoon.  Guests entering campus between the times of 8:30am and 2:30pm will be required to show identification to the guard and will exit on Opa Locka Blvd.

Please also refer to the detailed traffic map below for further information, and be sure to contact the E.A.G.L.E.S. office with any questions.

Both are fine young men who are already looking forward to next season and hope to pursue a track & field career in college.  Torry specifically will be continuing his journey of one day competing at LSU.

A lot of exciting things have been happening here at Northwest. We are thrilled to offer cheerleading this school year and are in the process of rebuilding our program. We will have two teams which will consist of a Developmental Team and a Varsity Team. The Developmental Team will be grades K-4th and the Varsity will include grades 5th-12th. Both teams will learn the core basics of cheerleading along with other concepts such as team work, social skills, and participating in a competitive environment. I believe this will be a great opportunity for any young girl looking to develop confidence, poise, leadership skills and teamworking along efforts with other girls.

Just in case you missed our informational meeting, which was on September 28th, just know that it's not too late to sign up. The last chance to register for this school year will be the week of October 26th. Tryouts for the Varsity Team will be taking place October 6th, 8th and 9th and practice will begin Monday, October 12th for Varsity and Tuesday, October 13th for the Developmental Team.

So please take advantage of this great opportunity and get involved. We’re excited for this new change and we hope you are too. To access the Cheerleading Registration Form or Flyer, click on "Forms" at the top of this page. The forms are in the "Athletic" section.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

box tops for education

NCA is once again collecting Box Tops for Education coupons to raise money for our school.  Did you know that some local schools raise thousands of dollars for their schools each year just by clipping and submitting Box Tops, UPCs, and beverage/sauce caps from participating products? You can check out the full product list at www.boxtops4education.com.

Box Top coupons are on the packaging of hundreds of products that you probably use every day!  All you need to do is cut them off of the box or label they are on, stick them in a resealable plastic bag, and send them to school with your child.  It's that easy! We will be collecting Box Tops all year long, so start saving and sending in your Box Tops today!

You may contact our principal, Mrs. Davis, if you have any questions or would like to help with this fundraiser.  Thanks for supporting our school!
